Soho House Shoreditch, located in the edgy and eclectic neighborhood of Shoreditch, offers a lively and luxurious stay that perfectly captures the area’s unique vibe. Whether you’re looking to immerse yourself in the energetic atmosphere of East London or simply enjoy the signature Soho House experience, this location delivers in spades. However, while the stay was undeniably enjoyable, I couldn’t help but feel that my personality might align more with White City than Shoreditch.
Check-In: A Seamless Start with a Personal Touch
The check-in experience at Soho House Shoreditch was nothing short of amazing. The staff were welcoming and efficient, immediately setting the tone for a fantastic stay. What really stood out was the extra effort made by the host, who not only ensured everything was perfect for our stay but also phoned through to Soho House Barcelona to arrange a visit to Little Beach House for the following week. This personal touch is exactly what makes Soho House stand out, making you feel like a valued guest across their global properties.
The Location: Cool, Eclectic, and Always Busy
Set in the heart of Shoreditch, the location is perfect for those who love being in the thick of things. The area is known for its vibrant street art, quirky boutiques, and buzzing nightlife, which means you can expect some out-there vibes and a very busy weekend. If you enjoy being surrounded by creativity and a bit of edge, Soho House Shoreditch is the perfect spot. Just be prepared for the lively atmosphere that comes with it, especially on the weekends.
The Room: Comfortable with a Few Quirks
The room itself was a good size, with plenty of space to relax and unwind. The air conditioning was a dream—quiet and effective, providing a steady flow of cool air throughout our stay. The mini bar was well-stocked with everything you might need, and the fresh cookies waiting in the room were a delicious touch.
The bathroom, while stylish and well-appointed, was perhaps a bit on the small side. The shower pressure was excellent, and the usual Cowshed and Soho Skin amenities were, as always, a treat to use. The room also featured a good TV with streaming built in, making it easy to catch up on shows or watch a movie after a day of exploring. Overall, the room was comfortable, but the bathroom could have benefited from a bit more space.
Dining: A Memorable Meal with a Few Challenges
Dinner at Pen Yen was one of the highlights of the stay. The food was incredible, with each dish offering a delightful mix of flavors and presentation. However, the low seating in the restaurant, while stylish, proved a bit challenging to get up from after a leisurely meal. It’s a minor quibble, but something to keep in mind if you prefer more traditional dining chairs.
The Vibe: Energetic and Unmistakably Soho
As expected, the outdoor pool area was a hive of activity, embodying the quintessential Soho House vibe. It was busy all day, with a lively atmosphere that made it a great place to hang out, meet people, and enjoy the sun. As the day turned into night, the energy moved indoors, where the ping pong tables and the club provided entertainment well into the evening. It’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, caught up in the fun and social buzz that Soho House is known for.
Final Thoughts: A Great Stay, But Maybe Not My Vibe
Soho House Shoreditch offers a fantastic stay with all the hallmarks of Soho House hospitality—excellent service, stylish rooms, and a vibrant atmosphere. The location is ideal for those who thrive in the eclectic and energetic vibe of Shoreditch, and the amenities provided ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
That said, I couldn’t shake the feeling that my personality might be more suited to White City than Shoreditch. While I appreciated the creativity and edge that this location offers, I found myself longing for the slightly more relaxed and polished vibe of other Soho House locations. Still, for those who love the buzz and energy of East London, Soho House Shoreditch is an excellent choice, offering a unique and memorable experience in the heart of one of London’s most exciting neighborhoods.
